Tastes like from ready-to-use sauces
Lamb madras and butter chicken tastes like they came from one of those ready-to-use sauces. We were expecting more authenticity given their rating and price. Such a pity. Also, food came out 1 hour and 25 mins after we ordered. Wont come back.

A fabulous experience
Easily the finest Indian food I have had the pleasure of enjoying in Switzerland. I say this as a regular consumer of this cuisine in the UK, and having visited India on numerous occasions. The food is delicately prepared with obviously fresh spices and just so nicely cooked. The helpful spice guide on the menu is spot on. There’s no risk for someone inexperienced having a meal that they cannot enjoy due to heat. I fully recommend the garlic naan. So authentic and just beautiful. Finally, the service is friendly, kind and prompt. I look forward to visiting this establishment again at the earliest opportunity!

Von den klassischen Currys bis zu den würzigen Tandoori-Spezialitäten - hier findet man alles, was das Herz begehrt. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die frischen Zutaten und die perfekte Balance der Gewürze, die jedes Gericht zu einem authentischen Geschmackserlebnis machen. Wir mögen es gerne etwas schärfer und haben dies bei der Bestellung gesagt es wurde dann auch so zubereitet Der Service im Indian Summer ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Sie nehmen sich Zeit, um die Gäste zu beraten und geben gute Tips bei der Auswahl der Gerichte. Die Bedienung erfolgt zügig und man fühlt sich wirklich wie ein geschätzter Gast. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Portionen sind großzügig bemessen und die Preise sind fair. Wir können das Indian Summer uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Es ist ein Ort, an dem man die indische Küche in all ihrer Pracht erleben kann. Egal, ob man ein Liebhaber der indischen Küche ist oder sie zum ersten Mal probiert - hier wird man nicht enttäuscht.

Wir kommen wieder!
Das Essen war wirklich sehr fein. Die Location gepflegt mit angenehmem Ambiente und superfreundliches Personal. Die Empfehlungen waren passend, insgesamt waren wir super happy! Wahrscheinlich der beste Inder in Basel. Achtung: wenn steht „sehr scharf,“ dann ist es scharf (nicht Europäisiert).

A breeze of Indian Summer in Basel
Great Date Dinner spot. We enjoyed the food which was served in a surprisingly authentic manner and held par with some of the food served in India. The restaurant follows a modern style trickled with Indian touches. As it is on the pricier end, we would visit it again on a special occasion

Wir waren zu fünft geschäftlich dort essen. Alle Gerichte waren super lecker. Medium scharf war angenehm scharf, so dass man trotzdem noch alle Geschmäcker schmeckte.das Naan Knoblauch Brot war auch sehr fein.

We had a wonderful evening in Indian Summer! Papadams were served right at the beginning, very friendly. The Dhal soup with coriander was delicious, the main courses, whether vegetarian or seafood, were a poem. And, the service was very attentive and friendly.PS: Good lunch menus!

It was our favourite Indian restaurant in the area. It even moved to this much nicer location than before, but since the last two weeks, orders were mixed up, it was too spicy (ordering none spicy) and the replacement didn't have any taste at all, plus the parathas are far from what they've been a month ago 😔We'll come back after the summer vacation to see (and we sincerely hope) if it's back to what we've been used to 😊

It is now the second time we have been to this restaurant and again we were not disappointed: everything is delicious and the service is very nice & helpful. Do not forget to order their butter naan: omg! If food & people in India are as great as in this restaurant, we regret we have never visited India....

A wonderful Indian restaurant. From the warm welcome to the farewell, the well-coordinated team makes you feel very welcome. The extensive menu leaves nothing to be desired. The explanations of the exciting dishes and wines are understandable and accurate. We had dinner there on December 31, 2023. Despite being at full capacity, the staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Also a big compliment to the kitchen, we received the dishes in a timely manner and they were once again a real treat! We had another very successful evening at “Indian Sommer” and can recommend this address with a clear conscience. We are already looking forward to the next visit!
The food is well prepared and presented-delicious. The server made helpful suggestions to assist us in deciding how much to order. The drink offerings are innovative, which we really appreciated! What a truly pleasant evening!

Absolutely great place ! The food is authentic and delicious. The staff extremely friendly , many of them (if not all) speak good English . Also very cozy and relaxing atmosphere. One of the few non touristy places open on Sunday for lunch as well.

I put a little comment, while passing through Basel for the holidays, we made a little detour to this restaurant. Indian food lovers with an average budget (between 50-65 francs for 2 people), this place is perfect for you. The food is good, the waiter is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and the music allows you to relax. We had a great time☺️

Very good chicken korma, perhaps the best in Switzerland. The staff is very attentive and the atmosphere is very cozy. The visit has always been a nice experience so far.
I had lunch today (13.12.2023) at Indian Summer Restaurant. I ordered chicken with naan bread, and broccoli soup that was included in the menu. The 'broccoli soup' was so watery with no trace of broccoli! The main meal arrived and was told that the naan would follow in 2/3 minutes. The vegetables on the plate looked pretty meager and lifeless.The chicken pieces had hardly any masala. After waiting for over 10 minutes, I asked the waitress about the naan. She said that it would be ready soon. I asked her to cancel the naan, finished the lacklustre meal, paid and left the restaurant.As an elderly Indian, with a fine taste for Indian cuisine, I was very disappointed with the food and service at this restaurant.
There is simply a good atmosphere in this restaurant! This is so valuable and is also transferred to the food. Very good value for money.
Always a pleasure to eat here - everything is great. For me the best Indian I know. But be careful - spicy also means spicy here. 😉
We ate there as a larger group (7 people).The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting and the distances between the tables are well chosen. We were served very friendly and when we asked for recommendations the menu was explained to us. While ordering, there were also tips on what would go well with it, for example as a starter.Everyone enjoyed the food, the portions were more than sufficient (5 of us had to have something packed, which worked without any problems). The starter was even explained and introduced to us again when it was served.

I found it very nice and was very positively surprised. The staff was very nice and the location too. Always saw the Instagram pictures and always wanted to eat there. And that was the best decision - the food not only looks good but also tastes delicious. Always my pleasure.

Here you can find fine Indian food in a nice atmosphere. The butter chicken and chicken tika masala we ordered were very good and the portions were very large. On a Sunday evening you could find a table even without a reservation. The service is very friendly. The only problem was the ventilation, after a while it got a bit stuffy. All in all a good experience, the food is recommended.
Unfortunately it wasn't meet my expectations. Meat and sauces were not good. Afterwards we didn't feel well the whole night. The clothes after the dinner smelt bad.

We have waited for the food for over an hour! Ordering took a very long time too as they have only one waitress for the whole restaurant..We ordered a middle spicy dish which was full of hot chillis so we couldn’t eat that dish at all.We also have asked for more rice in the beginning of the meal, but it hadn’t arrived until the dishes were already cold.We would really not recommend to go there

Every bite was a real taste explosion.We are thrilled with this restaurant and can fully recommend it. Whether for a romantic dinner for two or a social gathering with friends, this restaurant has something to offer for everyone. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

The whole end to end experience is lovely. You can book a table 24/7, online which is very convenient. My family and I loved the very relaxed and positive vibe underpinned with nice music, you notice it right away when you enter. Extremely friendly staff who were very forthcoming and customer oriented, instead of focusing mainly on their tasks. They could read desires before they were expressed, which is rare in Basel. The food was the icing, very nice and authentic indian food, when it says spicy it is spicy which is great for people who like that! Soon again, thank you! 🙏🏾

It’s neither economical nor too costly.There is a lot of Chicken and masala gravy which is more compared to the rice in the biryani. The portion of palak paneer too is very good. All in all a good experience.
They moved to a new place. The food remained the same however the portion is definitely smaller. A chicken saag had 4 (!) small chicken peaces. Their “Lunch card” reader almost never works. Prepare debit/credit card as an option too in case you want to pay with it.

The place is very nice and clean. Personell very friendly. The food very tasty, authentic flavors. Mango lassi was great. Only thing is that you may face delays in the service but for sure its worth it.

The menu was very limited and the samosas were frozen on the inside when we got them. They did warm them up again but it shouldn’t happen.Beer wasn‘t very cold also.Service was friendly but value for money wasn‘t too good.

I had a meal in the restaurant and ordered Mango Lassi and Kothu Parotta.Mango Lassi was not good at all. It was total waste of money. It seems like they have used water instead of yogurt.The Parotta was ok but spicy
We had a really good time at indian summer. Service was really nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the main dishes were far too salty, to the point it was difficult to enjoy them (and I’m someone who eats very salty usually). Great desserts!
The best curry experience I have had in Basel! The food was seriously special and the waiters were really helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. There was an equal and great selection of veggie and meat options!
Very cozy restaurant. Not super big and has a lot of vegetarian options. The price is also not shocking, so thats for sure a good thing. I ordered the Palak Paneer and the taste was very good! They had a nice primitivo and some good home made soda’s. The service is friendly and good. Will for sure return!
Decent in parts. Bindhi Masala & Naans are definitely worth a try. Pakora & Samosas, not really. Very slow service so do order drinks and appetizers as soon as you get in.

The ambience is very good and located in very calm neighborhood.The restaurant has a parking space in the backyard, a welcome change from other Indian restaurants.Food was good. The 'broccoli soup' was so watery with no trace of broccoli! The main meal arrived and was told that the naan would follow in 2/3 minutes. The vegetables on the plate looked pretty meager and lifeless.The chicken pieces had hardly any masala. After waiting for over 10 minutes, I asked the waitress about the naan. She said that it would be ready soon. I asked her to cancel the naan, finished the lacklustre meal, paid and left the restaurant.As an elderly Indian, with a fine taste for Indian cuisine, I was very disappointed with the food and service at this restaurant.
There is simply a good atmosphere in this restaurant! This is so valuable and is also transferred to the food. Very good value for money.
Always a pleasure to eat here - everything is great. For me the best Indian I know. But be careful - spicy also means spicy here. 😉
We ate there as a larger group (7 people).The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting and the distances between the tables are well chosen. We were served very friendly and when we asked for recommendations the menu was explained to us. While ordering, there were also tips on what would go well with it, for example as a starter.Everyone enjoyed the food, the portions were more than sufficient (5 of us had to have something packed, which worked without any problems). The starter was even explained and introduced to us again when it was served.

I found it very nice and was very positively surprised. The staff was very nice and the location too. Always saw the Instagram pictures and always wanted to eat there. And that was the best decision - the food not only looks good but also tastes delicious. Always my pleasure.

Here you can find fine Indian food in a nice atmosphere. The butter chicken and chicken tika masala we ordered were very good and the portions were very large. On a Sunday evening you could find a table even without a reservation. The service is very friendly. The only problem was the ventilation, after a while it got a bit stuffy. All in all a good experience, the food is recommended.
Unfortunately it wasn't meet my expectations. Meat and sauces were not good. Afterwards we didn't feel well the whole night. The clothes after the dinner smelt bad.

One staff managing from customer service to beverage making all by himself. Poor fella but he was still very cordial and nice. We enjoyed the mutton nasi briyani, butter chicken, naan very much. Price was pretty reasonable as the portion was good for 4 small/medium eaters. Will definitely return

We have waited for the food for over an hour! Ordering took a very long time too as they have only one waitress for the whole restaurant..We ordered a middle spicy dish which was full of hot chillis so we couldn’t eat that dish at all.We also have asked for more rice in the beginning of the meal, but it hadn’t arrived until the dishes were already cold.We would really not recommend to go there

The friendly and courteous staff made our evening an unforgettable experience.The food was simply outstanding and undoubtedly the best Indian food I have ever tasted in Basel. The flavors, presentation and quality of the food were simply outstanding. We ordered a variety of dishes including Chicken Vindaloo, South Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala. Every bite was a real taste explosion.We are thrilled with this restaurant and can fully recommend it. Whether for a romantic dinner for two or a social gathering with friends, this restaurant has something to offer for everyone. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

The whole end to end experience is lovely. You can book a table 24/7, online which is very convenient. My family and I loved the very relaxed and positive vibe underpinned with nice music, you notice it right away when you enter. Extremely friendly staff who were very forthcoming and customer oriented, instead of focusing mainly on their tasks. They could read desires before they were expressed, which is rare in Basel. The food was the icing, very nice and authentic indian food, when it says spicy it is spicy which is great for people who like that! Soon again, thank you! 🙏🏾
Dishes tried -Chicken biryaniPalak paneerLacha parathaBest Indian food. Friendly and helpful staff.The quality for the price you pay seems reasonable. It’s neither economical nor too costly.There is a lot of Chicken and masala gravy which is more compared to the rice in the biryani. The portion of palak paneer too is very good. All in all a good experience.
They moved to a new place. The food remained the same however the portion is definitely smaller. A chicken saag had 4 (!) small chicken peaces. Their “Lunch card” reader almost never works. Prepare debit/credit card as an option too in case you want to pay with it.

The place is very nice and clean. Personell very friendly. The food very tasty, authentic flavors. Mango lassi was great. Only thing is that you may face delays in the service but for sure its worth it.
I dined here on holiday from England and the food was amazing! It tasted very authentic and the service was quick. The staff were also very accommodating and friendly. All in all, if in Basel you should definitely dine here!

The menu was very limited and the samosas were frozen on the inside when we got them. They did warm them up again but it shouldn’t happen.Beer wasn‘t very cold also.Service was friendly but value for money wasn‘t too good.

I had a meal in the restaurant and ordered Mango Lassi and Kothu Parotta.Mango Lassi was not good at all. It was total waste of money. It seems like they have used water instead of yogurt.The Parotta was ok but spicy
We had a really good time at indian summer. Service was really nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the main dishes were far too salty, to the point it was difficult to enjoy them (and I’m someone who eats very salty usually). Great desserts!
The best curry experience I have had in Basel! The food was seriously special and the waiters were really helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. There was an equal and great selection of veggie and meat options!
Very cozy restaurant. Not super big and has a lot of vegetarian options. The price is also not shocking, so thats for sure a good thing. I ordered the Palak Paneer and the taste was very good! They had a nice primitivo and some good home made soda’s. The service is friendly and good. Will for sure return!
Decent in parts. Bindhi Masala & Naans are definitely worth a try. Pakora & Samosas, not really. Very slow service so do order drinks and appetizers as soon as you get in.
A good new restaurant.The host, Akhilan, was very warm and welcoming. The ambience is very good and located in very calm neighborhood.The restaurant has a parking space in the backyard, a welcome change from other Indian restaurants.Food was good. Hard to find any complaints with the taste, quality and service.Will visit again.
